Speak Your Mind

Hey guys,
So recently, I've been listening to Anne-Marie's album, Speak Your Mind
And hey

I just feel the need to write something about the album cause I think, I kinda like it.
Hehehe...

It's sooooo good

To make my writing easier, I think I'm gonna write review track by track :

1) Cry

Okay, this is the first track and to be honest, I don't like this song at all because I have to wait more than one minute until Anne-Marie starts singing and yeahh...the intro music is not my type, so, usually I just skip this song when I listen to the album ( 1 over 5)

2) Ciao Adios

This, this is my favourite! Yeahh...I just like how the melody goes, and how she sings the song...
Especially when she sings that part : Used to take me out in your fancy car...
The way she sings 'fancy car' makes me fall in in love with this song
I also like that I can dance around every time I listen to this song (even though it's a sad song - in a savage way I guess) (4.5 over 5)

3) Alarm

'There goes the alarm ringing in my head...'
Hmm...not really my favorite but I still like it :-)

4) Trigger

I like this part : 'That won't fix it any quicker, we don't have to pull the trigger'
And because of that, I'm gonna give this song (3.8 over 5)

5) Then

This, is what I really like. I mean, I like her voice in this song, and yeah, this is a sad song and well, it is really really a good one. Because you can feel the feeling and emotion in her voice.
'I loved you, but that was then...'

6) Perfect

This song is super honest...or super insecure ? I don't know...if you talk about how you're okay with not putting make-up and whatever you do that's quite different from other people, what do you really want people to think about you ?
Hmm...I don't know, maybe you just want to be accepted the way you are?
For making me keep asking that question, I think this song is quite something, so yeahh...

7) FRIENDS

Hee...I guess you know this song because it's her most popular song. Yeah, that friend-zone anthem.
And well, I actually wanted to listen to her album because of this song
But don't get me wrong, I don't really like this song, I just love her voice the first time I listen to this song, that's why I wanted to listen to her whole album at the first place
For introducing me to Anne-Marie, I guess I know how much should I rate this song

8) Bad Girlfriend

I like this song! Might be because I was a bad girlfriend. HAHAHAHA. I like how the melody and the lyrics go together but I don't really like the fact that she's singing about something bad.
By confessing how bad she is, that's not really a good thing to do (but I still like this song) so...

9) Heavy

This, is my favorite! Because I like the meaningful lyrics behind it. And I feel good that I can relate to this song :-)

10) 2002

This song is something. I like how the lyric is full of 00's popular songs (even though I only know few from Britney) but heyy... it's wonderful to come out with this kinda lyric :-)

11) Can I Get Your Number

The start is great. But not really my type. So maybe... (3.3 over 5)

12) Machine

'If I was a machine...'
I wish I was a machine when it all gets too hard. A straight-forward song, but so deep and I really like it.

13) Breathing Fire

It's okay, but not really my type...but I still like it in certain ways, so...

14) Some People

This is my most favorite! It's different from my other favorite songs, but yeah, this is what I like the most from this album! I don't know, maybe because of the story in this song, or because the way she sings it, it's something that so unusual but in a great way...so yeah, maybe...

15) Used To Love You

I just can't sing along...

16) Peak

Oh my gosh, I like the start of this song...it makes me think about something...
and this, this is a sad song where it will make you think of something sad (of course)
And the chorus part, is full of a lot of questions that make this song sad...ha,

17) Rockabye

This song is sooo famous! And it deserves that! So rockabye baby, rockabye...

So that's all.
Reminder : I don't even know how I rate every song, I don't have any clear idea on that. It's just so subjective and yeah, just my opinion and I know it so well that if I listen to it next year or two more years, I'm sure I'll rate every track differently. I'm just a voice out of billions voices in this planet

Overall, I enjoy the album and yeah, I listen to it a lot lately.
And I will definitely listen to her other songs in the future as well I guess...

The reason why I started to listen to Anne-Marie, is because of that 'FRIENDS' song.
I like the tone of her voice, so clear and really, every time I listen to her voice, it makes me want to really really speak English
I don't speak English that much, but I wish I can speak it clearly like that...
So nice...

pp/s : Oh, and you know what, I had listened to YOUNGBLOOD and VALENTINE studio versions by 5SOS, and of course, I really really like what I listened too...I can't wait for their third album because right now, I desperately really want to listen to the studio version of LIE TO ME and I really want to know what EMPTY WALLETS is about...
