I've been waiting to write this for ages!
Gosh!

After a long long time of waiting, 5 Seconds Of Summer finally released their third album!
Woohoooo

To be honest, this is my first time waiting for an album, this long...
Fuhh...

I wear henna for the first time in 21 years just because of this album. Happy Eid :-)

Yeah, so they released it on 15th June 2018,
and I've been promoting the album, to people I know and around my uni, for months (hahaha...no joke, this time, I really fangirling so hard since I have no life, as you can tell)

Ha, and the reason why I took so long (few days) to write this review because I've been listening to the album for days, waiting for my feelings to change (to see if the album is worth the wait or not)

and guess what ?

I only GOT NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR IT, FALL MORE IN LOVE EVERY DAY

Yess...YOUNGBLOOD owns my heart,

If you haven't listen to the whole album, you should, right now...

YOUNGBLOOD, deluxe version, consists of 16 tracks, for target edition, 18 tracks,
anyway, I'm gonna write my feelings for each track, so yeah, bear with me,

The first time I listen to this album was on 14th June, why and how ?
It's because I listened to the whole album online at Nova969, 8PM, Malaysia time (yeah, the Eid's night) exclusively,

BANG!

And the whole time, I sat still, cause I felt speechless hearing each track and I could feel and sense the new era, how 5SOS changed their genre, music and all that

I'm not an expert at this music thing whatsoever, I don't really know what kind of genre they're heading to, but from their interviews, they keep saying 'diverse', 'alternatives'
And you know what, they create what they feel right and good and they're smashing it,

This album cleared my skin and snatched my wig!

Ha,

1) Youngblood

5SOS released this track after the first single, Want You Back, and I remember listening to the live version of this song in March. Yeah, it's one of the five songs that 5SOS sang without releasing the studio version in March. This song has a very sad lyrics, and I can relate to it enough, you know,

"Yeah, you used to call me baby, now you're calling me by name"

This song is quite addicting and I remember when 5SOS released the studio version, I'd been listening to it on repeat for days...
Btw, I don't know any of other 5SOS songs that give me similar feeling when listening to this, I guess, this is quite fresh and new, and well...different vibe.



2) Want You Back

This is the first single from this album that 5SOS released last February, and I already wrote something about it, you can read it here... hehe...
Right now, I like this lyric :

"Wish I could say something, something that doesn't sound insane
But lately, I don't trust my brain, you tell me I won't ever change
So I just say nothing..."



3) Lie To Me

This song also is one of the five songs that they sang live at their promo tour back in March, and tell you what, this is my most favorite! I mean the live version is so so good, I watched a lot of their performances and I could feel how much Luke really sings this song with his heart every time he sings this song especially,
Aww...
I mean, you can really feel the strong emotion watching him singing this song, I guess, you should go to YouTube now, and search for it.
Luke even said that this is his favorite track from the album, I bet this song means so much to him...

"And I know that you don't, but if I ask you if you love me, I hope you lie, lie, lie, lie to me"

You should watch him singing, and prepare some tissue while you're at it.
Frankly, I like the live version more because I can feel the emotion more (and they change it a bit in live version) and watching Luke sings with all his heart...goshh...it's surreal, can't imagine if I have a chance to watch him singing this song in front of my eyes, I bet I'll cry a bucket.



4) Valentine

Valentine also is one of the five songs that they sang live at promo tour in March. I like this song cause it's so catchy and the lyrics are so so deep,
The start of this song is so nice too, and the chorus...I bet you cannot not love this song...
I like this song first before LTM, but you know...I changed my mind. But still, this song is so so great...

"I love the light in your eyes and the dark in your heart
You love our permanent chase and the bite of our bark
We know, we're classic together like Egyptian gold,
We love us..."



5) Talk Fast

"I want you love in every flavor"

I feel like I want to dance around every time I listen to this song, I mean...the music is so so catchy and light and makes you want to move you head back and forth. lol
But yeah, that's how I feel every time I listen to this song...



6) Moving Along

"I know I'm the stupid one who ended it, and now I'm the stupid one regretting it"

I like how much I can relate with this song...the lyrics, damn...ahh...really remind of that someone, but I don't mind it...

"Scared of moving on, but you're already gone..."



7) If Walls Could Talk

This song is so so different and I don't know what to say about it...
But hey, it's in my top 5 from this album!

"Some things are meant to be secret and not to be heard"



8) Better Man

The lyrics of this song are so powerful, and this song clears my skin. :-)

"You're the only one, who could lock this wild heart up in chains
You're the only one, that can make this bad man better"



9) More

They're so many songs with sad lyrics in this album, but the melody doesn't sound so sad and this song is one of them...

"Cause we used to have more"

Idk, if it's just me or what, but those two words, 'used to', I think are the saddest words, I hate those words being together like that so so much, urghh...

But heyy, don't get the wrong idea, this song is one of a kind, cause I think the music sounds like I'm about to go on a war or something, and it's fresh. YEAH. There...I said it. FRESH. It'll give you fresh vibe...



10) Why Won't You Love Me

Huhh...
I really can't wait to watch 5SOS sing this song live...fuhh...cause the emotion that this song brings with it is so...so... hmm, don't really have a word for it. Should I say too much ?

I don't know, but I really really can't wait to watch them sing this song live during MYT tours (I hope they'll sing this song)

"Can you tell me why, my love? Can you tell me why I hold on to you and you hold on to me?"




11) Woke Up In Japan

This is my least favorite, I don't know why...there's nothing wrong with this song...
Maybe because I'm still jealous that they use Japan in the lyrics...lol.
Anyway, go ahead listen to this song and tell me what do you think about it...

"Falling fast, breathing slow, time is up, the end is just a dream"




12) Empty Wallets

I'd been wanting to listen to this song since they released the tracks name...
And yeah, I'm clearly not disappointed with what I hear
I feel like I want to write an entry just for this song...you know, like my interpretation to it or something... :-)

"Sugar coated brain, the fluid ain't to blame, for the sugar coated pain"




13) Ghost Of You

This, I think is the saddest song from this album and it's so goodddddddd
I like Cal's part in this song so much, and you know... if you have a hard time crying or something, just close your eyes, listen to this song, and feel the emotions in it...
There's no way you cannot cry...

(I cry a lot listening to certain songs...lol. Emo kid, what to do)

"We're too young, too dumb, to know things like love"




14) Monster Among Men

"Demons hide behind my back, and I can't see them, one, two, three, four
Leading me to do their dirty work, won't let them knock my door
The stupid truth is I'm so bad for you..."

I like this song cause the lyrics are raw and honest, and it's catchy too...and I don't know what not to like about it...hehehe...
The guitar solo is sooo good too...



15) Meet You There

I actually never thought that 5SOS would make a song like this, but heyy...they did it.
I don't know, just something about that "lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-love" part...hahaha

They lyrics are quite easy to memorize, and yeahh...to be honest, not really my fav, but I still like it :-)

"So you go your way and I'll go mine, and if we're meant to, I'll meet you there"



16) Babylon

I love this song so so so so so so much...so much, I think it's my favorite track. YES. I said it. My most favorite. And Calum owns this song, he's really a great singer, and I don't think I can sing this song without taking my breath every now and then...
(because of the tongue twisters lyrics and the melody, pardon)

The lyrics make me go WOW...yepp, I'm speechless by how good they're, and you should really really listen to this song.

"I thought we had a place, just our place, our home place, my headspace..."



17) When You Walk Away

This is one of the two tracks that only available in target editions (yepp, not available even in Spotify or Itunes)

"Cut me open, take my heart so we'll never be apart, don't you let it go to waste"

First thing first, I don't understand why 5SOS don't want to put this song in the deluxe version, and yes...I'm so mad at them for this...URGHH...

You know what, this song...is soo soo great...again, like many of other songs in this album, it's catchy too, but I bet it's the most catchy
You can listen to it on YouTube (few fans already uploaded it), and see how great it is...

Aha, aha...aha,aha...when you walk away....heyyy

Duhh, just make this song available, how dare you ?

"I'm so bad at letting go, how do you make it look so easy?"



18) Best Friend

This is another song that only available in target edition...and well, it's great too.
I really really like this song,

"Even every time that you got the flu, I'm not scared at all to get close to you
I don't run away when your face says "Achoo", but I run to get you a tissue"



Okayy, I bet, for now, that's all I have to say about 5SOS third album
This album is really really different from the first and second albums,
but it's different in a good way. It's new and fresh and kudos to 5SOS for taking the risks
And for making me wait for an album this long...

Overall, I like it so so much (been listening to it for days already), and I'll continue streaming it every single day while waiting for the next album...
